Greensense is a climate change consultancy based in Perth, providing Australian organisations with informed and effective advice and innovative technology solutions.
Greensense was founded by Derek Gerrard, Peter Tickler and Fabian Le Gay Brereton.
We strive to make the journey to sustainability, energy efficiency and the low-carbon economy a clear and viable one. In fact, we’re in the business of making the journey a positive, productive and profitable experience that’s as much about embracing opportunities as it is about managing risks and simply fulfilling regulatory and reporting responsibilities.
Partners rather than just clients
A growing number of leading companies, organisations and government bodies rely on our team’s expertise. For instance, we’re proud to be the preferred supplier of climate change consulting services to Western Australian Local Government and to have been retained by Horizon Power as their carbon strategy advisors.
And the reason so many organisations are turning to us for ongoing strategic guidance is that our suite of services and breadth of knowledge enable us to take a holistic approach, acting as long-term partners rather than simply consultants.
The case for action
Make no mistake: despite some comments from a contrarian and sometimes anti-science media and a well-oiled PR campaign from climate change denialists, climate change is real and the impacts are already beginning to appear. The government’s proposed emissions trading scheme will place a cost on greenhouse gas emissions, so businesses that don’t invest in abatement risk becoming uncompetitive, as well as unsustainable.
The role of technology
One of the key challenge of climate change is to transform the way we use energy. Greensense is proud to be a member of WASEA, the peak body for sustainable energy in Western Australia, and we were a silver sponsor of the WASEA’s inaugural Energising WA conference in 2010.
We have also developed our own technology to enable more sustainable energy use, Greensense View. Our technology portfolio to support sustainability also includes car pooling services and a greenhouse gas and energy reporting platform for local government.
