May 2010 — Forestry and your Carbon Abatement Strategy

The creation of carbon sinks through reforestation projects has a significant part to play in mitigating climate change, but the use of forestry projects to offset emissions has a chequered history and is often misunderstood. This session will help you understand how forestry can form an effective part of your carbon abatement strategy and give you an overview of market options.

We’ll talk about our experience helping one of the State’s largest energy providers navigate this complex area and explain the concept of ‘multi-criteria decision making’ and how you can incorporate social, environmental and economic drivers when developing your abatement strategy.

As with all our events these sessions are intended to be informative and give you a chance to network with like minded professionals.
